Event Description

Careers in the Arts is a monthly lively lecture series that focuses on a wide range of professions including and beyond the practice of art. Nerissa Street is an award-winning filmmaker, arts educator and storyteller. Her organization, Girls Call The Shots, works with teen girls to develop their voices in film and media through professional mentorship and production experience. She has presented the transformative power of film and storytelling to audiences including South by Southwest®, TEDx, Images and Voices of Hope, and the Women’s Media Center. Street will discuss her career journey and offer advice to aspiring artists. This event is free and open to the public.
